Around the Rays Tank

Carl Crawford voted as the league’s best defensive left-fielder – something Rays fans already knew. Meanwhile, Matt Joyce was rated as one of the best right fielders in the minors.

Dany Symborski has started putting out his ZIPS over at Baseball Think Factory and the Rays 2010 numbers were just published. You may or may not be familiar with the projections Bill James puts out each year;  I find the ZIPS projections to be as conservative as the James projections are aggressive.

Some Rays have started playing ball down in the Dominican Winter League.

Another story about why the Rays needed to delay the talks about a new stadium.

With the Rays out of it, large market teams once again dominated baseball in 2009.

Update on the St. Pete mayoral race; important because Ford doesn’t want to let the Rays out of their current lease any time soon.
