Chew On This


That hurts. I mentioned it in the 30 in 30 post but it really deserves it’s own post because of just how poorly the club has performed in this area during this slump. When the club actually makes contact with the ball with runners in scoring position, they’re not very lucky with their balls in play. Remember, the club is the worst in the American League for strikeout rate over the last 31 games so while they’re trying to aim better, maybe they should also work on making more contact. This is why those safety squeezes are a thing of beauty when Maddon puts them into play. .297 was ridiculously inflated while .210 is the complete opposite extreme; I think we would all gladly settle for something in the middle.
