Longoria, Crawford Finish 6th and 7th in MVP voting

BBWAA gave Josh Hamilton the award with 358 points as he earned 22 of the 28 first place votes. Miguel Cabrera got five while some wise person gave Jose Bautista a vote he deserved. Both Evan Longoria and Carl Crawford had Top 5 WAR values for the AL in 2010, but finished 6th and 7th in the voting in a very tight voting class. Delmon Young actually got 44 points finishing ahead of Alex Rodriguez.

Josh Hamilton – 358 points
Miguel Cabrera – 262 points
Robinson Cano – 229 points
Jose Bautista – 165 points
Paul Konerko – 130 points
Evan Longoria – 100 points
Carl Crawford – 98 points

Rafael Soriano came in 11th with 21 points which was more than any other pitcher. Current or former Rays players finished 1st, 6th, 7th, 10th, and 12th. Not bad.
