Rays Franchise Up In Value

Forbes has released its latest financials on each team in baseball and the Rays team value is now at $331M, up five percent from its value of $316M last season according to BizofBaseball’s Maury Brown.

Brown’s site has an excellent archive of this data from year to year if you are interested in seeing all 30 clubs. The table below shows the data for the Rays since the 2005 season:

Since new ownership took over, the value of the franchise has gone up 88% while revenue streams have remained rather flat over the past three seasons. For the club to increase revenues by $10M last year in the tough economical times that the area was in at the time is quite the accomplishment.

Thanks to BizofBaseball.com and Maury Brown for making this archived data available.
